Before connecting the AC cord (LH model only) lq
LH model has an AC VOLTAGEselector.Make sure thatthe AC
VOLTAGEselectorissettothepositionmatching your localvoltage.If
itisnotcorrectlyset,change itwitha screwdriverora similartool,Either
11O-120V or 220-240V can be selected.
On placement
lDonotusetheunitinplaceswhichareextremelyhot,cold,dustyor
humid. Inparticular,do notkeep the unit:
. ina high humidityarea such as a bathroom
. near a heater
. in an area exposed to directsunlight(e.g.,insidea parked car,
please be carefulbecause itmay become extremelyhot)

On safety
UIlllWhendisconnectingtheAC cord,griptheplugand notthecord itself.
AC VOLTAGEPullingthe cord may damage itand thus be hazardous.
lWhenyou are not going to use the unitfora long periodof time,
disconnectthe AC cord.Ifthe cord isplugged ina smallamount of
currentkeeps on flowingtotheuniteven ifthepower switchisnoton.
lIftheACcord isbroken or damaged, or ifthe wires are exposed,
contactyour dealeroran Aiwa servicestationand have itreplacedor
repairedimmediately.
On condensation
When the room isheated,you sometimes see water drops on your
windows. This iscalledcondensation.
This can alsooccur insidethe unitwhen:
litismovedfrom a coldspottoa warm spot.
litisusedinaroomwheretheheatingsystemhasjustbeenturnedon.
litisusedinaplacewithalotofmoisture.
litisusedwhereithasdirectcontactwithcoolair,suchasnearanair-
conditioner.
When moisturehas condensed inside,the unitmay notfunctionnor-
mally.Let itstand for1 or 2 hours before turningthe power on, or
graduallyheat the room and drythe unitbeforeuse.
Should any troubleoccur,disconnecttheAC cordand referservicingto
qualifiedpersonnelonly.
