This section provides a brief description of the majoranalog audio (16 channels) comes into the analog converter

The DADR-5000 block diagram shows the PWBs containedthe AES board. The TDM stream travels over 2 signals,
in the DADR system.each carrying 8 channels of audio.
Some boards are standard off the shelf components andEach audio sample on the TDM stream can be a maximum
some are unique to the DADR.of 32 bits although only 24 bits are used or generated by
the AES board. A clock signal at 256*Fs and a frame sync
pulse is carried along with the TDM audio data.

The PC Mother board is the main system processor. It runsBased on the userOs audio input selection, the appropriate

This allows audio data to be transferred directly between
the Quad SHARC board and SCSI bus without passingThe Backplane Interconnect Diagram shows the audio

The following sections describe the operation of the boardsboard. If no SYNC board is present in the DADR, the AES

Detailed descriptions of the standard off the shelf componentsthe Quad SHARC board and the AES reference outputs
are available in the manufactureOs data sheets.(the DADR is a slave in this case).
If a SYNC board is present, the AES reference input goes
to the SYNC board where it is regenerated and sent back to
the AES board. From the AES board it goes to the Quad
SHARC board and reference outputs.
Note that if the DADR is slave without a SYNC board, the
AES reference must originate from another DADR that
generates an AES reference with time of day (TOD)
information.
If the AES reference is used simply as a source of audio
clock, a SYNC board must be present to regenerate the
AES reference with time of day (TOD) information.
