Digital Gamma Selection (DVD, VCD)
? Digital gamma is a digital image quality enhancement function that gives a richer image by brightening the
darker and more obscure portions of the image without altering the brightness of the brighter portions,
thereby making the entire image easier to see.
? Four digital gamma settings are available to allow for differences in the images played and in the brightness
of the room.
? When you are watching a recording with frequent dark scenes, such as a film or concert, or when you are
watching a recording in bright room, this feature makes the darker scenes easier to see and gives the
impression of greater depth in the image.

1Each time you press the DIGITAL GAMMA button, the screen changes as shown below.

2If you press the \ or | button on the remote control cursor controls once when the GAMMA:ON
screen is displayed, the level selection indicator appears (eg. GAMMA: ||). When this level selection
indicator is displayed, you can use the \ or | button on the remote control cursor controls to change
the level.
