This manual is for both the EU and Australian version of the CCD-TR55(E) Camcorder, as stated it includes both the users manual and the service manual. The quality of the manual is very good but it is only black and white (not full colour) and ultimately it is just a scan, so 4/5 from me.

I downloaded this product and looked through it quickly with Adobe Reader v9. It is clean and a good copy. Some scanned pages are not perfectly square, but that is a minor complaint. The document schematics and board diagrams are easy to read, of good contrast. The whole file downloaded quickly. This is a good service! Sony charges about $100 for the printed version of the same manual. It is still available through their print-on-demand pro parts system, but why would you do that?

Movie Ratings
This function allows you to control access to individual movies based on their
Child Lock
LOCK
TV RatingsMPAA ratings (Motion Picture Association of America)
Movie Ratings
Blocking Options&Select Movie Ratings in the LOCKmenu with the cursor down.
Change Code
Ã©Press the OKkey to activate.
A list appears, showing all valid MPAA content ratings.
GSelect a movie rating with the cursor up/down.
MOVIEPG
RATINGSBlock or unblock the selected rating with the cursor left/right.PG-13
R
Note:When any item has been blocked,all ratings below in the list are blocked
NC-17
as well,thus all movies with those ratings will be blocked.
X
The Master Disable menu item in Blocking Options is set to Off.(See below.)
Gmovies with a mild content, suitable for all ages
PGmovies for which parental guidance is recommended.
They may contain a few racy or violent scenes or maybe
some bad language
PG-13movies for which parental guidance may be recommended if
under age 13
Rrestricted.The movies usually contain offensive sex or bad
language and may be unsuitable for children under the age of 17.
Parental guidance or permission needed.
NC-17even with parental permission, forbidden under age 17.
More offensive sex, violence or bad language.
Xmovies which generally focus on sex, violence and/or bad
language.Also known as pornography.
Blocking Options
&Select Blocking Optionsin the LOCKmenu with the cursor up/down.
Ã©Press the OKkey to activate.
Master Disable
BLOCKINGUnratedMaster Disable
OPTIONSNo Rating&Select Master Disablewith the cursor up/down.
Ã©When you select ON,all selected ratings will be disabled.
This will still be the case after turning off and on the receiver.
When certain ratings have been selected in the TV Ratings, Movie Ratings or
Blocking Options menu, Master Disable OFF is automatically selected.
Unrated
&Select Unratedwith the cursor up/down.
Ã©When you selected BLOCKED,all programs of which the rating has been
switched off by the broadcaster, will be blocked.
No Rating
&Select No Ratingwith the cursor up/down.
Ã©When you select BLOCKED,all programs which have no rating information,
will be blocked.
Note:The system will not respond to another rating system.This means that the TV
signal with another Rating system will be interpreted as a not rated TV signal.
