TEST MODE
Note 1: About OR�
As this unit has only a few buttons, some operations require the use of remote commander (RM-SJ373/provided with unit: 1-418-554-11)
buttons. These operations are indicated as OR� in this manual.
Example: MENU/NO OR� ...Press the MENU/NO button of the remote commander.
4-1. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE OF TEST MODE
Y As loading related operations will be performed regardless of the test mode operations being performed, be sure to check that the disc is
stopped before setting and removing it.
Even if the 6 (MD) button is pressed while the disc is rotating during continuous playback, continuous recording, etc., the disc will not
stop rotating.
Therefore, it will be ejected while rotating.
Be sure to press the 6 (MD) button after pressing the MENU/NO OR� button and the rotation of disc is stopped.

4-2. SETTING THE TEST MODE
The following are two methods of entering the test mode.
Procedure 1:Press the FUNCTION button, and set the function to OMD�. When the power ON, press the 1/u button while pressing the p
(MD) button and r REC button together.
When the test mode is set, O[Check]� will be displayed. Pressing the =0/MD/CD/TUNING � button or )+/MD/
CD/TUNING + button switches between the following four groups; áááNn Check Nn Adjust Nn Service Nn De-
velop Nn ááá.
Procedure 2:Press the FUNCTION button, and set the function to OMD�. When the power ON, press the 1/u button while pressing the p
(MD) button and SYNC REC button together.
When the test mode is set, OTEMP CHECK� will be displayed. By setting the test mode using this procedure, only the OCheck�
group of procedure 1 can be executed.
4-3. EXITING THE TEST MODE
Press the REPEAT/STEREO/MONO button.
4-4. BASIC OPERATIONS OF THE TEST MODE
All operations are performed using the =0/MD/CD/TUNING � button or )+/MD/CD/TUNING + button, ENTER/YES OR�
button, and MENU/NO OR� button.
The functions of these buttons are as follows.
