Using the appliance
Brewing coffee
1 Make sure the lid is on the water tank.
2 Open the lid of the water tank cover and fill the water tank with fresh, cold water (fig. 2).
- Make sure you fill the water tank to a level between the minimum and maximum indication
marks.
- Always close the hinged lid of the cover after filling the water tank to allow the appliance to
function properly.
� The graduations on the left are for large cups (120 ml).
� The graduations on the right are for small cups (80 ml).
3 Swing the filter holder support out of the appliance (fig. 3).
4 Take a paper filter (size 102/1x2) and fold the sealed edges to prevent tearing and folding
(fig. 4).
5 Put the filter in the filter holder.
6 Put ground coffee (filter-fine grind) in the filter (fig. 5).
- For large cups: use one heaped measuring spoon of ground coffee for each cup.
- For small cups: use one level measuring spoon of ground coffee for each cup.
BUse filter-fine ground coffee.If you grind the coffee yourself,do not grind it to a fine powder.
7 Swing the filter holder support back into the appliance (fig. 6).
8 Place the jug on the hotplate (fig. 7).
Make sure the lid is on the jug.
If the lid has not been placed, the drip stop will block the outflow opening of the filter and the
coffee will not drip into the jug.
9 Switch the appliance on by pressing the on/off switch (fig. 8).
10 When all the water has passed through the filter, you can take the jug out of the appliance
(fig. 9).
11 After having poured coffee, put the jug with the remaining coffee back on the hotplate to
keep it hot and to preserve its flavour (fig. 10).
� However, coffee is at its best right after is has been brewed! (fig. 11).
Drip stop
The drip stop prevents coffee from dripping through the filter onto the hotplate when you:
- remove the jug from the appliance for a moment (max. 30 seconds) during the brewing
process.
- remove the jug after making coffee.
After drinking coffee
1 Swing the filter holder support out of the appliance (fig. 12).
2 Lift the filter holder with the paper filter out of the filter holder support (fig. 13).
3 Throw away the used paper filter with the ground coffee (fig. 14).
4 Switch the appliance off (fig. 15). |
