This manual is for both the EU and Australian version of the CCD-TR55(E) Camcorder, as stated it includes both the users manual and the service manual. The quality of the manual is very good but it is only black and white (not full colour) and ultimately it is just a scan, so 4/5 from me.

I downloaded this product and looked through it quickly with Adobe Reader v9. It is clean and a good copy. Some scanned pages are not perfectly square, but that is a minor complaint. The document schematics and board diagrams are easy to read, of good contrast. The whole file downloaded quickly. This is a good service! Sony charges about $100 for the printed version of the same manual. It is still available through their print-on-demand pro parts system, but why would you do that?

3-14. Replacing the Boards
[Notes|at|installation]3-14-2. SDI-49 Board
. Before connecting the connection connector, clean the
white optical contact at the tip of connector with alcohol.m
. Align the protrusion of the connector with the notch of. Every electrical part mounted on the SDI-49 board
the interconnection connector in connecting.cannot be replaced. If there is any defective part, replace
the board itself.
. Optical cables used in the unit are very fragile. So do not

1. Remove the heat sink assembly. (Refer to steps 1 and

2. Disconnect the harness connector from the connector
(CN2) of the SDI-49 board, and disconnect the coaxial
connectors from the connectors (CN7 and CN3).
. Refer to the figure and keep the extra optical cable3. Disconnect the optical cable (blue).
(slacked part) in the fiber box.4. Remove the fiber guard.
5. Remove the four screws, and remove the SDI-49
board.
