SYSTEM TEST MODE
Setting the TEST mode
1. Entering the TEST Mode
In Power Off state press simultaneously the [STOP], [MENU+] and [POWER] buttons. Then, the 7-segment LED indicating
, indicates that the TEST mode has been set.
2. Operation
(1) Step 1
While the 7-segment LED indicates (Step 0), press the [PLAY] button. Then, the 7-segment LED indicates , and
the pickup laser diode lights. It is used for laser lighting check.
(2) Step 2
While the 7-segment LED indicates (Step 1), press the [PLAY] button. Then, the 7-segment LED indicates , and
focus access is performed.
After successful focus access the Step shifts automatically to Step 3, and display appears.
In case of focus access failure the focus search is repeated.
It is used for focus search and focus servo check.
(3) Step 3
The disc is rotated, and automatic adjustment of E/F balance of tracking signal is performed.

(4) Step 4
In Step 3 state press the [PAUSE] button. Then, the Step 4 display appears, and the tracking servo is turned on.
When the [PAUSE] button is pressed again, the Step 3 is resumed. It is usedfor tracking servo check.
(5) Step 5
In Step 6 or Step 7 state, press the [PAUSE] button. Then the tracking servo is kept in off state. It is used for E/F balance check.
When the [PAUSE] button is pressed again, the step is resumed Step 6.
(6) Step 6
In Step 3 state press the [PLAY] button. Then, CD-DA disc is played back. The tracking servo is turned on, mute is canceled, and
the truck No. and time are indicated.
(7) Step 7
In Step 6 state press the [PLAY] button. Then, VIDEO-CD disc is played back. When the [PLAY] button is pressed again, the Step
6 is resumed.
(8) Pickup feed
1) While the [SKIP_UP] button is held down, the pickup slides toward the outer periphery.
2) While the [SKIP_DOWN] button is held down, the pickup slides toward the inner periphery.
In nay step the pickup feed operation is enabled.
(9) Step cancel
In any step return to Step 0 is enabled by pressing the [STOP] button.
