As shown in the figure above, this printer engine can receive print data from both Facsimile engine and Host computer. This printer
engine is not equipped with a the controller (ICU) for decoding code data for bit development. Printing from PC is made with external
print data (bit image data) only. It is a kind of sleek printer.
The Windows Printing System (WPS) is provided for Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows for Workgroups 3.1x and Windows 95.
The Windows Printing System includes the printer driver and various operating information.
Print data from an application software in Windows is converted to bit image data and output to the printer. At the same time, the
printer operating information is displayed on the CRT. The bit image data from Facsimile engine and Host computer are sent to the
process control unit (PCU) in the printer. When the print start command is issued, the process control unit controls the drive sections
(the feed motor, the laser scanning unit, the drum motor, etc.) to perform printing.
