4-3. Troubleshooting Using Self-Diagnosis Mode
This section describes the troubleshooting of the ADI-1150C and ADI-1150D based on a self-diagno-
sis mode of the ADI-1150C.
Before initiating this troubleshooting, confirm that the power is normally supplied from the ADI-
1150C to the ADI-1150D (the power indicator of the ADI-1150D lights).
1. Terminal Connection
Turn off the power of the ADI-1150C and terminal before connecting the terminal equipment.
Connect the terminal equipment to the RS-232C port (D-SUB 25 pins, female, 9600 bps, 8-bit/
character, non parity, and 1 stop bit) on the rear panel of the ADI-1150C.
For the pin assignment of the connector and the connection connector, refer to section 1-4.
2. Self-Diagnosis Mode Activation
Start up a terminal emulation software on the terminal equipment. Then turn on the power of the ADI-
1150C. Enter four characters (DIAG) from the terminal equipment. Prompt ODIAGNOSTIC => is then
displayed on the screen of the terminal equipment.
. If Prompt is not displayed, confirm the RS-232C port setting (on the terminal equipment side) and
connection. If no abnormality is found in the RS-232C port setting and connection, replace the FM
board (ADI-1150C).
. Enter four charactors (HELP), description of menu is displayed.
3. SCSI CPU Check
Enter O11 as the menu number. (Perform the All Check item in a SCSI CPU block.)
. If any of the Work Memory Check, ROM Check, and 2-Port Communication Check items is NG,
replace the FM-38 board (ADI-1150C).
. If any of the LCD Check and LED Check items is NG, replace the DSP-62 board (ADI-1150C). If
the error cannot be restored by replacement, replace the FM-38 board (ADI-1150C).
4. DRV CPU Check
Enter O21 as the menu number. (Perform the All Check item in a DRV CPU block.)
. If any of the Memory Check and ROM Check items is NG, replace the FM-38 board (ADI-1150C).
. If the PIO Check item is NG, replace the DPR-61 board (ADI-1150C). If the error cannot be
restored by replacement, replace the FM-38 board (ADI-1150C).
5. Loopback Check
Enter O31 as the menu number. (Perform the All Check in an Loopback block.)
. If any of the LP-5 and LP-6 Check items is NG, replace the DPR-61 board (ADI-1150C).
. If the LP-4 Check item is NG, confirm that the cables (DC cable, control cable, and data cable) is
connected properly. If no abnormality is found, replace the cables. If the error cannot be restored by
cable replacement, replace the IF-509 board (ADI-1150D). If the error cannot be restored by the
replacement of the IF-509 board, replace the DPR-61 board (ADI-1150C).
. If the LP-3 Check item is NG, replace the IF-509 board (ADI-1150D).
. If any of the LP-2 and LP-1 Check items is NG, replace the SE-232 board (ADI-1150D).
6. Self-Diagnosis Mode Termination
Enter four characters (QUIT). The self-diagnostic mode is then terminated.
