Functions for Maintenance
7-1. Outline
The maintenance functions below can be activated and executed using the terminal of a personal comput-
er that is connected to the RS-232C port of this unit.
The connection cable is prepared referring to page 1-9.
DEC VT100-compatible software is used as the terminal emulator software in a personal computer. The RS-
232C port on the personal computer side is set to 9600 bps, 8-bit charactor, 1 stop bit, and non-parity.
n The result display and numerical value on the terminal screen described in this section are one
example and differ from those of the actual unit. Both capital and small letters can be entered
as an alphabetical character unless otherwise specified.
Error check mode (For more details, refer to section 7-2.)
This mode is used to activate this unit as an error check tool of the ADI-1150D. To activate and execute
the maintenance mode of the ADI-1150D connected to this unit, set this unit to the error check mode in
advance.
Activation : Enter six characters ERRCHK from the terminal in a capital letter.
Termination: Turn off the power of this unit.
n This unit cannot operate normally when it is in the error check mode.
Self-diagnosis mode (For more details, refer to section 7-3.)
This mode is used to check the ADI-1150C and ADI-1150D. Moreover, the DIP switch state, ADI-
1150DOs hours meter, ROM version, and serial number can be displayed in this self-diagnosis mode.
Activation : Enter four characters DIAG from the terminal in a capital letter.
Termination: Enter four characters QUIT from the terminal and press the return key.
Logger display mode (For more details, refer to section 7-4.)
This mode is used to display the history of the SCSI sequence and internal operation state.
Activation : Enter three characters LOG from the terminal in a capital letter.
Termination: Enter four characters QUIT from the terminal and press the return key.
Download mode (For more details, refer to section 7-5.)
This mode is used to download the firmware of ADI-1150C.
Activation : Enter three characters FDL from the terminal in a capital letter.
Termination: Enter four characters QUIT from the terminal and press the return key.
Vendeor information set mode (For more details, refer to section 7-6.)
This mode is used to set each vendor information.
Activation : Enter six characters CUSTOM from the terminal in a capital letter.
Termination: Enter four characters QUIT from the terminal and press the return key.
Serive set mode (For more details, refer to section 7-7.)
This mode is used to set the baud rate of RS-232C.
Activation : Enter four characters SERV from the terminal in a capital letter.
Termination: Enter four characters QUIT from the terminal and press the return key.
m. This mode is available when SCSI ROM version is 1.05 and higher.
. This mode is available only when No.8 of DIP switch on the front panel is ON.
