ERROR-07 CAPSTAN TROUBLE
(CAPSTAN TROUBLE)
Description:Abnormal capstan motor rotation speed was detected in the REC, PLAY,
SEARCH, or REW mode.
Malfunction of capstan FG was detected in the REC or PLAY mode.
Detecting conditions:1) When the capstan motor ratation speed is under a half of the specified speed
continuously for more than four seconds in the SEARCH or REW mode.
2) When the frequency calculated from the capstan FG is out of the specifica-
tion in the REC or PLAY mode.
Sub error message:None
Possible causes: . Capstan motor trouble
. FG sensor trouble in capstan motor
. Capstan motor drive circuit (SV-206 board) trouble
. Capstan motor FG waveform shaper circuit (SV-206 board) trouble
. Capstan FG duty adjustment defect
Protecting operations: Stops the tape transport and enters the rest state.
ERROR-08 DRUM TROUBLE
(DRUM TROUBLE)
Description:Malfunction of drum motor was detected.
Detecting condition:1) When the drum FG is not detected for more than 0.2 second.
2) When the drum rotation speed is over 90 rotations per second, and this
condition continues and accumulates about three seconds within ten seconds.
3) When the drum rotation speed is under the specified.

Possible causes: . Drum motor trouble
. Drum microcomputer (IC210 on SV-206 board) trouble
. Drum motor drive circuit (SV-206 board) trouble
. Drum FG/PG waveform shaper circuit (SV-206 board) trouble
. Assembly defect during upper drum replacement
Protecting operation:Stops the tape transport and enters the rest state.
