Extend Function (Trimming Events to the Nowline
Position)
This function allows you to trim an event on the timeline, using the
nowline.
Executing this function moves whichever of the IN point and OUT point
of the selected event is closer to the nowline exactly onto the nowline. If as
a result of this operation the selected event becomes longer, the adjacent
event is overwritten, and becomes shorter. If as a result of this operation
the selected event becomes shorter, a gap is created between this event and
the adjacent event.
For details, see the next section OExamples of trimming using the nowline.
To trim an event using the nowline, use the following procedure.
1Select the event to be trimmed.
It is possible to select multiple events and trim them simultaneously,
but it is not possible to trim more than one event on the same track.
2Move the nowline to the position to which you want to move the IN
point or OUT point.
When you move the OUT point, it moves to a position one frame
before the nowline.
Note
It is not possible to move the IN point or OUT point of the selected
event to a position in which the material to which the event belongs
does not exist.
3Carry out either of the following operations.
Y In the timeline toolbar, click the (extend) button.
Y In the menu bar, select TimelinetEvent EdittExtend.
This carries out the trimming operation.
