The S/PDIF output defaults to the Consumer format. If you are recording from
your Echo hardware into a professional DAT deck, CD recorder, or Mini Disc
recorder, the device may not be able to recognize the signal until you switch the
output to Consumer.
Select the appropriate format for your DAT, CD recorder, or Mini Disc recorder (if
you don?t know which one to use and are having difficulties, simply try the one
that is not currently checked).
Note: No Echo hardware transmits the SCMS bit, regardless of which
format is selected.
The digital input auto-mute automatically silences the S/PDIF and ADAT inputs
when they are not synchronized to an external clock. This avoids problems where
extremely loud digital noise is heard when signals at differing sample rates are sent
to the digital-in or when a digital cable is unplugged. If you are having trouble
receiving a signal on your digital inputs, uncheck this box.
