5-Second Recording
VIDEO/MEMORYRecord a vacation or an important event in 5-second clips
Switchto keep the action moving. This function is available only
for video recording.
Recording Start/
Stop ButtonSet the VIDEO/MEMORY Switch to OVIDEO�, then
1set the Power Switch to O � while pressing down
the Lock Button located on the switch. Pull out the
Power Switchviewfinder fully or open the LCD monitor fully.
Press MENU. The Menu Screen appears.

Press + or � to select O MANUAL�, and press SET/
3SELECT. The MANUAL Menu appears.
Lock Button
Press + or � to select O5S�, and press SET/SELECT. The
4Sub Menu appears.
MENU Button
Press + or � to select O5S�, and press SET/SELECT.
SET/SELECT5Selection is complete. Press + or � to select O RE-
Button+, � ButtonTURN�, and press SET/SELECT twice to close the
Menu Screen.
YO5S� appears.
Press the Recording Start/Stop Button. The tally lamp
6lights and beep sounds to indicate the start of
recording, and after 5 seconds the camcorder enters
Record-Standby mode.
YEven if you press the Recording Start/Stop Button
again within 5 seconds after recording starts,
Record-Standby mode is not engaged.
To exit the 5S mode, select OOFF� in step 5.

SNAPSHOT Button
To Take A Snapshot In The 5-Second Recording Mode . . .
.... instead of pressing the Recording Start/Stop Button in
step 6, select the desired Snapshot mode in the Menu
Screen, then press SNAPSHOT. The camcorder
Display
records a 5-second still ( pg. 52). When O5S� is set
MANUAL Menuto OANIM.� ( pg. 41) this function is not available.

5SWhen O5S� is set to OANIM.� in the Menu Screen the
ANIM.
5-second recording mode is not available. Animation
recording of a few frames only is taken instead ( pg. 41). |
