If recorded to a DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW (DVD-Video format),
+R, +R DL or +RW disc, 16:9 aspect images will be recorded as To exit the screen

? You may be able to adjust it by changing the display mode on
your television, please refer to the television?s operating Direct Navigator screen icons
instructions.

Preparation
Title that was not recorded due to recording protection
? Turn on the television and select the appropriate video input to suit
the connections to this unit.(Digital broadcasts, etc.)
? Turn on this unit.Title cannot be played because data is damaged.
1Press [DRIVE SELECT] to select the Currently recording.

disc when scheduled recording starts.
? PRAM ress [q] (PLAY) when you wish to start playing the disc

Status messages

Play starts from the most recently recorded title.Status messages appear on the television during operation to show
DVD-V DVD-A CD VCDthe condition of the unit.
Play starts from the beginning of the disc.
Press [STATUS].
The display changes each time you press the button.

? It is not possible to play continuously from one side of a double
sided disc to the other. You will need to eject the disc and turn it
over.
? Depending on the disc, it may take time for the menu screen,
pictures, sound, etc. to start.
