Editing a Sample
After specifying the start point and end point, you can execute Setting the Start/End Points
Truncate (p. 155) to delete unwanted portions at the beginning
of the Sample
and end of the sample.
You can specify the portion of the sample that will actually sound.
You can also specify the region that is to be looped.About the beat
1.Press [SAMPLE LIST] and select the sample that you want Samples contain beat data. Up to 100 beat locations are specified
to edit (p. 146).for one sample. If the sample contains more than 100 beats, fifty
beat locations will be specified from the beginning and end of
2.Press [SAMPLE EDIT].

When you want to reset the beat indication
(Reset Grid function)
You can reassign the sample grid according to the specified
start point and BPM. In the Sample Edit screen, specify the start
point of the sample and press [F2 (Sample Param)] to access the
Sample Prm screen. In the Sample Prm screen, specify the BPM

3.Use or to select the point that you want to set.
YStart Point:
This is the point at which playback will start. Set this so that any Sample modify operations (Chop, Normalize, etc.) apply to the
unwanted portion at the beginning of the sample will be entire sample. Even if you specify a start point or end point,
skipped, and the sound will begin at the desired moment.they will be ignored. If you want to apply the operation only to
YLoop Start: the region between the start point and end point, use Truncate
This is the point at which loop playback (second and to delete unwanted portions of the sample, and then perform
subsequent times) will start. Set this if you want to loop the the sample modifying operation.

YEnd Point:
Using the knobs to edit the points
This is the point at which playback will end. Set this so that any
unwanted portion at the end of the sample will not be heard.You can use the knobs to edit each point. Using the knobs is
convenient when you need to make large changes to the value.
By pressing [F8 (Preview)] you can audition the region between 1.Make sure that the button indicators located at the right of
the start point and edit point.the REALTIME CONTROL knobs are extinguished.
If they are lit, press the button so the indicators go out.
If you hold down [F8 (Preview)] and edit the start/loop/end
2.Use the REALTIME CONTROL knobs to specify the
point, the sample will play repeatedly across that point. Since following editing points.

4.Either turn the VALUE dial or use [INC], [DEC] to move the
point so itOs where you want it to be.
YouOll probably find it convenient to zoom-in when making fine 1234
adjustments, and zoom-out when making major adjustments (p.

You can move the point in units of one beat by pressing [F4 (�)] 2: Loop Start
or [F5 (O)]. 3: End Point
The preset samples cannot be moved by beat.4: Zoom-in/zoom-out the horizontal axis of the display
