Playing Discs
This chapter describes how to play a DVD / Video CD / CD / MP3Video CDs with PBC
disc.When a Video CD (Version 2.0) with Playback Control functions
(PBC) is loaded, a menu will appear on the screen.
Select an item by pressing the numeric buttons, and then press
the ENT button to start playback.
< Press the / button to advance to the next page. Press the
.button to return to the previous page.
< If you press the TITLE button during playback, the menu will
appear on the screen.
< Press the MENU/PBC button to turn the PBC function on or off.
If you press the MENU/PBC button during playback, playback will
stop.
When the PBC function is off:
If you press the PLAY button (y) in the stop mode, playback will
start from the first track.
When the PBC function is on:
If you press the PLAY button (y) in the stop mode, a menu will
appear on the screen.
Select an item by pressing the numeric buttons, and then press
the ENT button to start playback.
CD/MP3
DVD/VCD/CD/MP3
Playback starts from the first track automatically.
Basic PlayIn the stop mode, select the file by pressing the numeric buttons
and press the ENT buton.
Depending on the DVD or Video CD discs, some operations may be
different or restricted. Refer to the instructions supplied with your
disc.< During playback a MP3 disc, you can select other file with the
numeric buttons.
< Press the MENU/PBC button to turn the MP3 menu off.
Press the MENU/PBC button again to turn the MP3 menu on.
1 When you want to play a DVD or Video CD, turn on the TV and
switch it to video input so that you can view the pictures fromNote
this system.
< When the DVD player is loading a disc, the system may not
respond to any operations.
2 Press the POWER switch to turn on the system. The front panel
display and blue LEDs will light. If the unit is in the DVD player
mode, the startup screen appears on the TV screen.To Begin Playback/To Pause
Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (G/J) while in stop mode to begin
3 If the system is not in the DVD player mode, press the DVD
button.playback. Press it again to pause.
4 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button (L), and place a disc in position.
Press the OPEN/CLOSE button (L) again to close the cover.To Stop Playback
The player starts loading the disc. Press the STOP button (H) to stop playback.

Skip Next or Previous
When a DVD is loaded, the playback may start automatically.
If a title menu appears on the screen, select an item by pressingPress the . or / button while playing a disc.

The playback will go to the next or previous title, chapter or track in
continuous play mode.
< Depending on the disc, you can use the numeric buttons to
select an item.
