Smart Hotel (BDS) Mode Instructions

X Introduction

Thank you for purchasing this Philips television set.

Included in this television is a special functional mode that allows the TV to be configured for
hospitality or commercial applications. This feature is called Smart Hotel Mode.

This addendum has been designed to help install and operate this TV in Smart Hotel Mode.

The basic functionality of this TV is described in the LCD TV User Manual, available online at
http://www.hospitality.philips.com. If you experience any difficulty programming the channels into
this set, please download and read the User Guide first, and follow its instructions to set-up and
program the TV, before continuing with the rest of this addendum.

Please initiate the channel installation process immediately after the TV is switched on
and connected to your source (Cable or Antenna) for the first time. Doing so will
ensure that you have the correct and latest channel map for your location, and
overwrite the channel map the TV shipped with, which is a normal outcome of our
quality assurance testing.

Y The benefits of Smart Hotel Mode

This TV is specially designed to operate in Smart Hotel Mode. Smart Hotel Mode offers the following
benefits:

Access to the user menu can be blocked. This prevents users (e.g. guests) from deleting or
changing channel settings and/or modifying picture and sound settings. Picture and sound can
only be controlled via pre-programmed Smart Settings and buttons on the remote control.
This ensures that TVs are always set up correctly.
A switch-on volume and channel can be selected. After switching on, the TV will always start
on the specified channel and volume level.
The maximum volume level of the TV can be limited in order to prevent guest disturbance.
Channels can be blanked (Video only)
The television keys VOLUME +/-, CHANNEL +/- and MENU can be blocked.
On Screen Display information can be suppressed.
