To accelerate the defrosting process, place a bowl of
hot water inside the freezer (with a piece of cardboard
underneath as a protection). The defrost water should
be collected in a basin placed under the gutter in the
central part between base and door. A small �exible
hose (supplied with the freezer and Ţxed inside the
plastic scraper handle), to be used as a gutter exten-
sion, will make it easier to collect the defrost water.

When defrosting is completed, dry the interior thor-
oughly.
Turn the thermostat control to a medium setting be-
tween 2 and 4 and, after letting the appliance run for
at least two hours in the �fast freezeE mode, replace
the previously removed food into the compartment.
Important
A temperature rise of the frozen food packs, during
defrosting, may shorten their safe storage life.
Never use sharp metal tools to scrape off frost from
the evaporator as this could damage the appliance
beyond repair.
