This manual is for both the EU and Australian version of the CCD-TR55(E) Camcorder, as stated it includes both the users manual and the service manual. The quality of the manual is very good but it is only black and white (not full colour) and ultimately it is just a scan, so 4/5 from me.

I downloaded this product and looked through it quickly with Adobe Reader v9. It is clean and a good copy. Some scanned pages are not perfectly square, but that is a minor complaint. The document schematics and board diagrams are easy to read, of good contrast. The whole file downloaded quickly. This is a good service! Sony charges about $100 for the printed version of the same manual. It is still available through their print-on-demand pro parts system, but why would you do that?

Contains mechanism diagrams, parts lists and schematics for all worldwide versions of DC-X88Z. Also includes remote schematic etc. A few non-essential pages are missing such as specifications. Includes the mechanical and electronic calibration instructions for the tape decks.

BEEP
GMELODYSelect to sound a melody when you start/stop recording, operate the
touch panel, or when an unusual condition occurs on your camcorder.
NORMALSelect to sound a beep instead of the melody.
OFFSelect to cancel the melody, the beep sound, the shutter sound or the
touch panel operation confirmation beep.
DISPLAY
GLCD PANELSelect to show the displays such as the time code on the LCD screen
and in the viewfinder.
V-OUT/PANELSelect to show the displays such as the time code on the TV screen,
LCD screen, and in the viewfinder.
bNote
You cannot input a signal to your camcorder if you press DISPLAY/BATT INFO while
[V-OUT/PANEL] is selected.
MENU ROTATE
You can select the scrolling direction (up or down) of the menu items on the LCD
screen when you touch or .
GNORMALSelect to scroll the menu items downwards by touching .
OPPOSITESelect to scroll the menu items upwards by touching .
A.SHUT OFF
G5minSelect to activate the Auto shut off. When approximately 5 minutes
have elapsed while you do not operate your camcorder, the camcorder
is automatically turned off to prevent the battery from becoming
consumed.
NEVERSelect to deactivate the Auto shut off.

When you connect your camcorder to the wall outlet, [A.SHUT OFF] is automatically set
to [NEVER].
