Recording or playback cannot be� Dirty tape heads, capstans or pressure

� Disconnect the headphones.
� Check that the speakers are connected

Reversed left and right sound.� Check the speaker connections and location.
Lack of bass sound or apparently� Check the speaker connection for proper
imprecise physical location of musicalphasing, colored/black wires to colored/
instruments.black terminals.
Remote control has no effect on the� Select the source (CD, TUNER, etc.)
system.before pressing the function button (Ã�,Ã,ë,
etc.).
� Reduce the distance to the system.
� Insert the batteries with their polarities
(+/- signs) as indicated.
� Replace the batteries.
Timer is not working.� Set the clock.
� Press CLOCKTIMER to switch on the timer.
� If recording is in progress, stop recording.
Clock setting is erased.� Reset the clock.
System displays features� Press and hold � (on the system) for
automatically;buttons flashfive seconds to switch off the
continuously.demonstration.
All lighted buttons are not lit.� Press DIM until DIM OFF display mode is
shown.
