this case, set the zoom while in Record-Standby,
10X (optical)lock the focus by using the manual focus
zoom zone10X(Z pg. 37), then zoom in or out in Record mode.
WcIn Full Auto mode (when the Operation Switch is
set to O �), zoom magnification of up to 40X is
possible. In Manual mode (when the Operation
Approximate zoom ratioSwitch is set to O �), zooming is possible to a
maximum of 100X or can be switched to 10X
magnification offered by optical zoom.
Power Zoom LevercZoom magnification of over 10X is done through
Digital image processing, and is therefore called
Digital Zoom.
cDuring Digital zoom, the quality of image may
suffer.
cDigital zoom cannot be used while functions done
through Digital image processing (Picture Wipe/
Dissolve function, Z pg. 32, Video Echo, Z pg. 35,
etc.) are activated.
cMacro shooting (as close as approx. 5 cm to the
subject) is possible when the Power Zoom Lever is
set all the way to OW�. Also see OTELE MACRO� in
the System Menu on page 30.
