4 Disassembly and Reassembly
This section of the service manual describes the disassembly and reassembly procedures for the
CKB5237L/7227L monitors.
WARNING: This monitor contains electrostatically sensitive devices. Use caution when handling
these components.
4-1 Disassembly (CKB7227L)
Cautions:1. Disconnect the monitor from the power source before disassembly.
2. Follow these directions carefully; never use metal instruments to pry apart the cabinet.
4-1-1 Cabinet Disassembly4-1-3 Removing the Main PCB
1. With a pad beneath it, stand the monitor on its1. Follow steps 1 through 5 in OCabinet

4. Disconnect the connector between CN_Tilt. on

5. Using pinch-nosed pliers or long-nosed pliers,and the CN300A_7, CN400, CN401 and CN402
carefully disconnect the Anode Cap from theconnectors on the Main PCB.
CRT.6. Remove the 2 screws on the left and right

7. Carefully lift the Main PCB AssOy.
CRT Socket PCB8. Remove the 7 screws on the top side of the
Main PCB.
1. Follow steps 1 through 5 in OCabinet
Disassembly,� above.9. Lift the Main PCB and place it on a flat, level
2. Disconnect connectors CN103.surface that is protected from static electricity.
3. Lift off the CRT Socket PCB Assembly.
4. Hold the CRT Socket PCB Assembly while
you lift the cap on the CRT Socket and pull
out the two focus wires, G2 wire.
5. Remove both side screws on the lower edge of
the Video PCB AssOy and the screw on the
signal connector and pull the assembly
towards you to remove it.
6. Remove all screws on the Video PCB
Assembly and remove the Video Shield.
7. Lift out the Video PCB and place it on a flat,
level surface that is protected from static
electricity.
