Subject: Sleep Mode Display Brightness
In the event you receive a Harmony sound system with the complaint ?the display is too dim in the Sleep mode?,
perform the following modification:
1)Toaccess&detachtheCDassembly,obtainJBLServiceBulletin#JBL9804(HarmonyDisassembly
Procedure) and follow steps 1 - 7.
2)Removethevolumecontrolknobbypullingitstraightoff;removethe7/16?mountingnutandwasher.
3)ToexposetheControlPCBfollowsteps1-5onlyinthesecondsectionofthedisassemblyprocedure.
4)Unplugtheupperconnectornearthe?Snooze?buttontobeabletoseparatethetwochassishalves;
removing more connectors is not necessary.
5)Laytheunit?sfronthalffacedownonapaddedsurface.
6)Pryanybeadsofhotglueoffandawayfromthe6connectingtabsholdingtheControlboardinplace.
7)Removethe(3)silver-coloredscrewsholdingthecontrolboardtotheunit.
8)Carefullypulltheconnectingtabsbackoneatatime;removetheControlboardfromtheunit.
9)Turnboarddisplay-sideup.LocateR281andchangefroma100toa27resistor-JBLpart#A091270.
10)ReturnControlboardtounitandreconnectalltabs;followalldisassemblyinstructionsinreverseorder.
11)Observebrightnessoftheunit?sdisplayinSleepmode,andtestallotherfunctions.
