I downloaded this product and looked through it quickly with Adobe Reader v9. It is clean and a good copy. Some scanned pages are not perfectly square, but that is a minor complaint. The document schematics and board diagrams are easy to read, of good contrast. The whole file downloaded quickly. This is a good service! Sony charges about $100 for the printed version of the same manual. It is still available through their print-on-demand pro parts system, but why would you do that?

All schematics for the Euro-PC and some extra info. Needed if you want to replace some missing hardware. A piece of great historical value and for vintage computing entusiasts.

Contains mechanism diagrams, parts lists and schematics for all worldwide versions of DC-X88Z. Also includes remote schematic etc. A few non-essential pages are missing such as specifications. Includes the mechanical and electronic calibration instructions for the tape decks.

4.8 ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
4.8.1 CHECK ITEM

B1 POWER DC voltmeter S1 Connector(1) Receive the black-and-white signal. (color off)
SUPPLY check1-pin : TP-E(2) Connect the DC voltmeter to the TP-E and TP-
5-pin : TP-9191(B1) of S1 connector.
[MAIN PWB](3) Confirm that the voltage is DC134.5V?2V.
HIGH VOLTAGE Resistor S1 connector? After reparing the high voltage hold down circuit. This
HOLD DOWN(19.0k& , 1-pin : TP-Ecircuit shall be checked to operate correctly.
check1/4W)3-pin : X-RAY1(1) Turn the power switch to on.
[MAIN PWB](2) Refer to the figure, connect the resistor between S1
connector 1-pin and 3-pin.
(3) Make sure that the screen picture disappeares.
(4) Disconnect the power plug.
(5) Remove the resistor.
(6) Again connect the power plug.
(7) Turn the power switch to on.
HEATER
(8) Make sure that the normal picture is displayed on the
B1
screen.

4.8.2 TUNER / IF CIRCUIT

IF VCORemote [9.VCO]? It must not adjust without inputting the RF signal.
control unit(1) Receive the broadcast.
CW transf. (T111)(2) Select 9.VCO from the SERVICE MODE.
[MAIN PWB](3) Set the "AFC" to "OFF" and "FINE" to "0".
(4) Confirm that the color change from "TOO HIGH" to
"TOO LOW" by CW transf. on MAIN PWB, and
AFC STATUS
(Turn to green)check the "SYNC" is "YES".
(5) Adjust CW transf. until "GOOD" letters turns green.
TOO HIGH GOOD TOO LOW
And then confirm that the "SYNC" is "YES" again.
SYNC: YES
Adjustment can be done in this statement.
AFC ON
FINE 0(6) It return the "AFC" to "ON".
(7) Push the [EXIT] key to exit the 9.VCO.
4.8.3 FOCUS

generator[In HVT](2) While watching at the screen, adjust the FOCUS VR
to the vertical and horizontal lines will be thinnest
and sharpest center horizontal line.
(3) Make sure that the picture is in focus even when the
screen gets darkened.
