I downloaded this product and looked through it quickly with Adobe Reader v9. It is clean and a good copy. Some scanned pages are not perfectly square, but that is a minor complaint. The document schematics and board diagrams are easy to read, of good contrast. The whole file downloaded quickly. This is a good service! Sony charges about $100 for the printed version of the same manual. It is still available through their print-on-demand pro parts system, but why would you do that?

Talk about a lifesaver!!!!!!!!!!!! This schematic will also work for the Radio Shack DX-392. This is the full blown service manual complete with alignment instructions, schematics, and parts lists.

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
2. TEST MODE
INPUT KEYPROCEDUREDISPLAY
Insert the AC plug toINITIAL CONDITION INITIAL OK!!
the wall outlet with Y Disc No.1 moves to the center and clamp it. MECH. INITIAL
pressing the SKIP- Y Clear the memory of the SRAM.
DOWN key. Y Door opens. INITIAL NG
Y Set the switch of TIMER ON PLAY to ON. TIMER, NG
Y Set the switch of SYSTEM CONTROL to XS8. SER, NG
Insert the AC plug toCIRCUIT ADJUSTMENT TEST ON
the wall outlet with Y Open the door and load the disc to the Disc No.1 in
pressing the REPEATmechanismA. Also No.3 in mechanismB.
or CONTINUOUS Y Close the door. The unit changes to test mode"05" after
PLAYkey.(J9010)clamping the discs on both mechanismA and B.
Caution:Not clear the memory of the SRAM if pressed CONTINUOUS PLAY key.(J9010)
Insert the AC plug toCIRCUIT ADJUSTMENT TEST ON
the wall outlet with Y Open the door and load the disc to the Disc No.1.
pressing the REPEAT Y Close the door. The unit changes to test mode"05" after
key(J7010)clamping the disc.
PLAY/PAUSE Change the mode 05(tracking-on) and 03(tracking-off) alternately05 1:23 03 2:34
by the PLAY key.
