- Toner Density Sensor Initial Setting -
The TD sensor initial setting procedure is performed in the factory. During TD
initial setting, the machine calibrates the TD sensor cCONT )ontrol voltage (V
so that the TD sensor output vol?t 0.1Vage is 2. using 0 new developer with a
standard toner concentration (6% by weight, 21.6 g of toner in 360 g of
developer). This factory-adjusted value will be used for toner density control
processing.
- Toner Density Measurement -
Toner density in the developer is detected once every copy cycle (point "1"
on the flow chart). The sensor output voltage T) during the det(Vection cycle
is compared with the toner supply reference TREF ).voltage (V
- Toner Supply Reference Voltage (VTREF ) Determination -
The toner reference voltage TREF ) is (V the TD sensor initial setting voltage,
corrected for humidity as detected by the humidity sensor (point "2" on the
flow chart). To change the image density, the humidity correction coefficient
for VTREF can be changed using SP 2-911 (there are five settings). The
larger the value entered in this SP mode, the lighter the copies will be.
- Toner Supply Determination -
VTREF is the threshold voltage for determining whether or not to supply toner.
If VT becomes greater than VTREF (points "3" and "4" on the flow chart), the
machine supplies additional toner.
