MAINTENANCE
Non-printing (with no paper fed):
A. CAP ENTRY PROCESS
1. Move the carriage to the center (the ink cartridge replacement posi-
tion).Perform the following procedures to cap the head for standby.
1. Move the carriage to the maintenance position.
2. Rotate the maintenance motor, and wipe the head with the wiper.
2. When the cover is closed with the print head installed, or when a
certain time is passed with the cover opened, move the carriage to
the maintenance position. (If the print head is not installed, the car-
riage is not returned to the maintenance position though the cover
is closed.)
3. The presence of an Ink cartridge is sensed.
4. When the ink cartridge is replaced, prime operation after replace-
ment of the ink cartridge is performed.
