CONNECTING ASETTING THE BEEP TONE
PORTABLE CASSETTE/
The unit is preset at the factory to beep each time
MD/MP3 PLAYER ORyou press any button on the front panel except
OPEN (no beep with the Jog Dial). You can mute
OTHER EQUIPMENT
this beeping by following the procedure below.
This unit is equipped with a line-level input (AUX
IN) jack, enabling high sound quality.
1With the unit off, press and hold SELECT
for more than 2 seconds.
2Rotate the Jog Dial to select OBEEP
ON� or OBEEP OFF�.
3Press SELECT.
The unit turns off.
1Connect a portable cassette/MD/MP3
player, etc. via the AUX IN jack (3.5-mm
dia.) of the unit.
2Press FUNCTION repeatedly to select
AUX IN mode.SETTING THE CONTRAST
The OAUX IN� indication appears.
CONTROL
3Start playback from the connected
equipment.
You can change the contrast of the display.

MD/MP3 player, etc., refer to the operating
instructions for that equipment.
1With the unit on, press and hold
FUNCTION for more than 2 seconds.
The current contrast indication appears.
2Rotate the Jog Dial to select the
contrast.
Rotate clockwise for higher contrast.
Rotate counterclockwise for lower contrast.
