An Error Message Appears
Printing does not start due to an error writing to LPT1
CauseSolution
Printer is not onCheck the POWER/ERROR light
The POWER/ERROR light should be green. If the light is
flashing, the printer is warming up.
Parallel cable not Check the parallel cable
connected correctlyMake sure the parallel cable is securely fastened to the
computer and the printer. See the Quick Start Guidefor
details.
Parallel cable faultTry to use another parallel cable
Make sure you are using an IEEE 1284 ECP-compatible
parallel interface cable.
Another device is Check the LPT1 port
connected to LPT1Make sure the printer is connected to LPT1.
Switching device or Check the switching device or external buffer
external buffer faultDisconnect the switching device or external buffer and
print with the printer connected directly to the computer.
If you can then print normally, the fault is probably in the
switching device or external buffer. Consult the switching
device or external buffer supplier.
Print spool is not Change the spool setting
