Troubleshooting
No sound from one speakerY No audio signal is being transmittedY Check all wires and connections between the DCR600II and
to the speakersspeakers. Make sure all wires are connected. Make sure
none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut or punctured.
Y In Dolby Digital or DTS modes, make sure that the DCR600II
is configured so that the speaker in question is enabled.
No sound from surround orY Incorrect surround modeY Select a mode other than Stereo.
center speakersY Make sure the movie or TV show you are watching is
recorded in a surround sound mode. If it is not, try using
another surround mode.
Y Input is monauralY There is no surround information from mono sources.
Y Stereo or Mono program materialY The surround decoder may not create center- or rear-channel
information from nonencoded programs.
Y Review the operation of your DVD player and the jacket
of your DVD to make sure that the DVD features the desired
Dolby Digital or DTS mode, and that you have properly
selected that mode using both the DVD playerOs menu and
the DVD discOs menu.
Y No audio signal is being transmittedY Check all wires and connections between the DCR600II and

Y Incorrect configuration Y If the DCR600II is set in Dolby Pro LogicII mode, make sure

sure it is configured so that the center speaker is enabled.
Y In Dolby Digital or DTS modes, make sure the DCR600II is
configured so that the surround speakers are enabled.
Y Check all wires and connections between the DCR600II and
speakers. Make sure all wires are connected. Make sure
none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut or punctured.
System plays at low volume butY Speaker impedances are dropping tooY Check all wires and connections between the DCR600II and
shuts off as volume is increasedlow for receiver to handlespeakers. Make sure all wires are connected. Make sure
none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut or punctured.
Y Do not use more than one pair of main speakers.
Low (or no) bass outputY Speakers are connected out of phaseY Make sure the connections to the left and right
Speaker Inputs have the correct polarity (+ and �).
Y Subwoofer output of DCR600II not Y In Dolby Digital or DTS modes, make sure the DCR600II is
enabledconfigured so that the subwoofer and LFE output is enabled.
