Digital Image Stabilizer
This feature compensates for unstable images caused by
camera-shake, particularly noticeable at high
magnification.
ACTIVATE D. I. STABILIZER
Press D.I.STABILIZER. O � appears in the viewfinder.

YTo switch off the Digital Image Stabilizer, press
D.I.STABILIZER. The indicator disappears.
Shooting Mode Selector
NOTES:
+D.I. STABILIZER
cAccurate stabilization may not be possible if hand
shake is excessive, or under the following conditions:
YWhen shooting subjects with vertical or horizontal
stripes
YWhen shooting dark or dim subjects
YWhen shooting subjects with excessive backlighting
YWhen shooting scenes with movement in various
directions
�YWhen shooting scenes with low-contrast
backgrounds
cWhen the Slow Shutter function is activated
(Z pg. 27), the Digital Image Stabilizer (DIS) cannot
be used. If you try to activate this function while DIS is
engaged, O� blinks, telling you that DIS has been
deactivated.
cSwitch off DIS when recording with the camcorder on
a tripod.
Exposure Control
This feature automatically adjusts the iris for the best
available picture quality, but you can override and make
the adjustment manually.
