Contains mechanism diagrams, parts lists and schematics for all worldwide versions of DC-X88Z. Also includes remote schematic etc. A few non-essential pages are missing such as specifications. Includes the mechanical and electronic calibration instructions for the tape decks.

Connecting a Power AmpliŢerConnecting a Preamp
You can use the A-1VL as a preampliŢer by connecting You can use the A-1VL as a power ampliŢer by

You can enjoy surround sound playback by connecting
PREOUTfront left and right speakers to the A-1VL and connect-
Ling center and surround speakers to the preampliŢer. If
you have a powered subwoofer, connect it to the
preampliŢerOs PRE OUT.
The signal from the PREOUT terminal will be output
whether the DIRECT function is enabled or not.R
Before you use the A-1VL as a power ampliŢer, be sure
to turn on the DIRECT function by pressing the
DIRECT button. (page 13)
Connecting the Power Cord
Y Before connecting the power cord, connect all of your
speakers and audio components.
Y Turning on the A-1VL may cause a momentary
power surge that might interfere with other electrical
equipment on the same circuit. If this is a problem,
plug the A-1VL into a different circuit.
Y Do not use a power cord other than the one supplied
with the A-1VL. The supplied power cord is designed
exclusively for use with the A-1VL and should not be
used with any other equipment.
Y Never disconnect the power cord from the A-1VL
while the other end is still plugged into a wall outlet.
Doing so may cause an electric shock. Always
disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet Ţrst,
and then the A-1VL.
1. Connect the supplied power cord to the A-1VLOs AC
2. Plug the power cord into an AC wall outlet.
