Playback Setup Screen
This section explains each item of playback setup. See
PROGRESSIVE

to set each item.Clearer images containing minimal flickering can be
enjoyed when playing back discs by connecting a
progressive-compatible TV with a component.
TV MODE

When recording wide screen material (16:9) from a
satellite broadcast in the Video mode:
Y The screen becomes longer in the vertical direction when
playing back with this recorder or another DVD player
and viewing on a normal (4:3) TV.
Y The screen also becomes longer in the vertical direction
when playing back with a PC capable of playing back
DVD video. (The output is set at 16:9 regardless of the TV
screen setting during playback.)
When recording wide screen material (16:9) from a
satellite broadcast in the VR mode:
Y When playing back with this recorder and viewing with a
normal (4:3) TV, the screen size during playback can be
changed according to the setting for OTV MODE� of
OPLAYBACK SETUP�. However, if the recording mode of
the disc is set to LP or EP, the material will be played
back in O4:3 LB� even if OTV MODE� of OPLAYBACK
SETUP� is set to O4:3 PS�.
