2.11.2 ENERGY SAVER MODE
Entering energy saver mode
The machine enters energy saver mode when one of the following is done.
? The low power timer runs out after the end of a job.
NOTE: If the low power timer is 0, the machine will wait for the low power shift
timer to run out, and then it will go straight to low power mode (see Low
Power Mode).
? The Clear Mode/Energy Saver Key is held down for a second.

What happens in energy saver mode
When the machine enters energy saver mode, the fusing lamp drops to 182 °C,
and the operation panel indicators are turned off except for the Energy Saver LED
and the Power LED. There is only one energy saver level.
If the CPU receives the image print out command from an application (e. g. to print
data from a PC), the fusing temperature rises to print the data. However, the
operation panel stays off.
Return to stand-by mode
If one of the following is done, the machine returns to stand-by mode:
? The Clear Mode/Energy Saver Mode key is pressed
? Any key on the operation panel is pressed
? An original is placed in the ADF
? The ADF is lifted
? A sheet of paper is placed in the by-pass feed table
The recovery time from energy saver to rise the fusing temperature is about 0 s.
NOTE: The polygon motor needs 10 seconds to reach the correct speed.
