Contains mechanism diagrams, parts lists and schematics for all worldwide versions of DC-X88Z. Also includes remote schematic etc. A few non-essential pages are missing such as specifications. Includes the mechanical and electronic calibration instructions for the tape decks.

MECHANISM DESCRIPTION
1-7 Disassembling the Traverse gear A.TRAVERSE
GEAR A
1. Remove the traverse gear A.11
1-8 Optical Pickup Tilt Adjustment
Start
STEP1
Fig. 9
Turn the power on with
pressing the "DISC 1" key.
STEP2(Display shows "INSPECTION " , test mode.)
Press "OPEN/CLOSE " key.
STEP3
Load DVD disc and play 1st chapter.Press "SKIP UP/DOWN " keys
(Inner periphery)for Tno. up or down.
STEP4
Press "PLAY " key.
Check to see that "JITTER XXX % " is displayed.
(Present jitter value.)
STEP5
Adjust to the minimum jitter value.Do steps 5~7 from the bottom of
(Tangential adjustment screw)the main unit using a hex wrench.
STEP6
Play DVD disc last chapter. (Outer periphery)
(Tilt adjustment screw1)
Adjust to the minimum jitter value.
Repeat adjusting tilt
STEP7adjustment screws
1 and 2 alternately,
Play DVD disc last chapter. (Outer periphery)two or three times.
(Tilt adjustment screw2)
Adjust to the minimum jitter value.
STEP8
NGPlay the disc to make sure there is no picture
degradation in the inner, middle and outer Check condition
peripheries, and no audio skipping.

Pull out the traverse unit.
(Refer to disassembly procedure
in this manual.
STEP10
Lock the adjustment screw in
position using screw lock.
STEP11
Assemble the main unit.
STEP12
Follow procedure for handling after
repairs are completed.
