5. Light Intensity Adjustment
When: Every call
Purpose: To maintain the correct light intensity.
Target: Second level of the standard test chart should be
slightly visible or there is no background on the copy
when the second level of the density control is
selected.
Measure: Adjust SP 48
How: The lamp regulator output voltage is changed.
1. Clean the optics, the ID sensor, and the charge corona wires.
2. Check/adjust uneven exposure and horizontal magnification.
3. Select the fourth manual ID level and make ten A3/LDG copies to
stabilize drum sensitivity.
4. Select the second manual ID level and make three A3 copies.
5. Adjust the light intensity using SP 48.
6. Setting ADS Reference Voltage
When: Every call
Purpose: To maintain correct ADS mode operation.
Target: ADS voltage = from 2.6 to 3.1 volts
Measure: Set SP 56
How: Main CPU automatically stores the reference voltage
displayed (?V0?) during SP 56 operation. The ADS
voltage is displayed in the guidance display (?V0?).
(Setting this voltage is only valid when ADS voltage is
from 2.6 to 3.1 volts.)
This process enables a speed up of image adjustments as the rear
cover does not have to be removed to adjust the ADS voltage.
1. Clean the optics, and select ADS mode. Then, set SP 56.
2. Place three sheets of A3/LDG white paper on the exposure glass,
and press the Enter key.
3. Check if the ADS voltage ?V0? is within specifications (from 2.6 to
3.1 volts).
4. If it is not within specifications, perform ?ADS Voltage Adjustment.?
