Shooting while watching the LCD monitor
Before the following steps, perform step 1 (Z pg. 10).
ENTER RECORD-STANDBY MODE
LENS COVER
Make sure the LCD monitor is fully open. Slide the
Switch
2LENS COVER open/close switch to open the lens
cover, then set the power switch to CAMERA.
YThe power indicator lights and the camcorder
enters the Record-Standby mode.
POWERYThe scene youOre aimed at appears in the LCD
monitor, with the word OPAUSE� superimposed
Start/Stopupon it.
Power indicatorSTART SHOOTING
Tilt the LCD monitor upward/downward for best
3viewability (Z pg. 13) and press the Recording
Start/Stop button.
MONITOR OPEN
SpeakerYThe tally lamp lights while recording is in progress,
REC
and O� appears in the LCD monitor.
STOP RECORDING
Press the Recording Start/Stop button again to stop
4recording.
YThe camcorder re-enters the Record-Standby
mode.

cWhen you use the LCD monitor outdoors in direct
sunlight, the LCD monitor may be difficult to see. If this
happens, we recommend that you use the viewfinder
(Z pg. 10).
