First-Time Operation
Create backup disks
For reinstallation( page 16), create backup disks. To create backup disks, the
optional SuperDisk Drive Pack (CF-VFS371) and 2HD floppy disks are needed.
1Turn the computer off, then remove the CD-ROM drive ( "Multimedia
Pocket").
2Insert the SuperDisk Drive Pack in the multimedia pocket and turn the computer on.
3Set a floppy disk and make sure it is not in the write-protected state, then select
[Start] - [Programs] - [Panasonic] - [Create BACKUP DISK] and follow the on-
screen instructions. Place a label identifying the contents on each disk.

CAUTION

your computer to the condition at the time of purchase should any problems

Insert the shutter-When creating floppy disks, do not run any other application program.
side headfirst.When creating floppy disks and the message [Insufficient files to copy] is
displayed, click [OK] and then contact Panasonic Technical Support.
While the MP indicator () is on, do not remove the floppy disk, power
down your computer or use the suspend or hibernation function (
"Suspend/Hibernation Functions").
NOTE
When using the files in the following folders available on the retail version of the
Windows 95 CD-ROM, it is necessary to run a separate file decompression
program.

\drivers
\help
\other
To uncompress the file, it is necessary to have about 75MB of free disk space
available on the hard disk.
To be able to use the CD-ROM drive, or DVD-ROM drive in the MS-DOS mode,
perform the operation below after modifying config.sys and autoexec.bat (
"CD-ROM/DVD-ROM Drive" ).
File decompression method:
1Turn your computer on.
2When [Starting Windows 95] is displayed, press F8 .
3Select [Command prompt only].
4Insert the Product Recovery CD-ROM.
At the prompt, input the following:
L:\en\addfile Enter
Follow the message on the screen.
After this program is executed, the contents of the above folders will be
decompressed to the c:\util\win95add folder.
