TROUBLESHOOTING
EnglishIf a fault occurs, first check the points listed below before taking the set for repair.
If you are unable to remedy a problem by following these hints, consult your dealer or service centre.
WARNING: Do not open the set as there is a risk of electric shock. Under no
circumstances should you try to repair the set yourself, as this would
invalidate the guarantee.

� CD badly scratched or dirty
No sound/powerY Replace/ clean CD, see MAINTENANCE
� VOLUME not adjusted
Y Adjust the VOLUME
The CD skips tracks
� Headphones connected� CD is damaged or dirty
Y Disconnect headphonesY Replace or clean the CD
� mains lead not securely connected
� SHUFFLE or PROGRAM is active
Y Connect the AC mains lead properlyY Switch off SHUFFLE/ PROGRAM
� Batteries dead/ incorrectly inserted
Y Insert (fresh) batteries correctlyPoor cassette sound quality
� Dust and dirt on the heads, etc.
Severe radio hum or noiseY Clean deck parts etc., see MAINTENANCE
� Electrical interference: set too close to TV,
� Use of incompatible cassette types (METAL
