Using the appliance
Brewing coffee
1 Remove the tank lid.
2 Make sure the tank cover is on the water tank.
3 Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water (fig. 2).
Make sure you fill the water tank to a level between the minimum and 8/12-cup indications.
Always place the tank lid back on the appliance after filling the water tank to allow the appliance to
function properly.
� The graduations on the left are for large cups (120 ml).
� The graduations on the right are for small cups (80 ml).
4 Swing the filter holder open (fig. 3).
5 Take a paper filter (size 102) and fold the sealed edges to prevent tearing and folding.You can
also use a permanent filter.
6 Put the filter in the filter holder (fig. 4).
7 Put ground coffee (filter-fine grind) in the filter.You can take as a reference, (fig. 5).
- for large cups: use one heaped measuring spoon of ground coffee for each cup.
- for small cups: use one level measuring spoon of ground coffee for each cup.
BUse filter-fine ground coffee.If you grind the coffee yourself,do not grind it so fine that it is almost
powder-like.
8 Swing the filter holder support back (fig. 6).
9 Place the jug on the hotplate (fig. 7).
Make sure the lid is on the jug.
If the lid has not been placed, the drip stop will block the outflow opening of the filter and the
coffee will not drip into the jug.
10 Switch the appliance on by pressing the on/off button (fig. 8).
11 When all the water has passed through the filter, you can take the jug out of the appliance
(fig. 9).
12 After having poured coffee, put the jug with the remaining coffee back on the hotplate to
keep it hot (fig. 10).
� For your convenience and safety, this appliance is equipped with an auto shut-off function. It
shuts itself off automatically after one hour.This also prevents the coffee from becoming too
bitter.
� However, coffee is at its best directly after it has been brewed! (fig. 11).
Drip stop
The drip stop prevents coffee from dripping through the filter onto the hotplate when you:
- Remove the jug from the appliance for a moment (max. 30 seconds) towards the end of the
brewing process.
- Remove the jug after the brewing process has finished. |
