Something Not Working
Certain problems are due to lack of simple maintenance or oversights, which can be solved easily without calling out
an engineer. Before contacting your Local service Force Centre, please carry out the checks listed below.

SymptomPossible causes
nCheck that the door is firmly closed.
nCheck that the machine is plugged in and that there is power at the
socket.
The machine does not start up:
nCheck that the main fuse has not blown.
nCheck that the programme selector dial is positioned correctly and pulled
out.
nCheck that the water tap is open.
nCheck that water is coming out of the tap.
The machine does not fill:nCheck that the inlet hose is not squashed or kinked.
nCheck that the filter in the inlet hose is not blocked.
nCheck that the door is closed.
The machine fills then emptiesnThe end of the drain hose is too low. Refer to relevant paragraph in
immediately:Owater drainage� section.
nCheck that the drain hose is not squashed or kinked.
The machine does not empty and/or
nThe drain filter is blocked. Clean it.
does not spin:
nThe Rinse Hold option has been selected.
nToo much detergent or unsuitable detergent (creates too much foam) has
been used.
nCheck whether there are any leaks from one of the inlet hose fittings. It
There is water on the floor:is not always easy to see this as the water runs down the hose; check to
see if it is damp.
nCheck that the drain hose is not damaged.
nCheck that the drain filter has been refitted correctly after cleaning.
nToo little detergent or unsuitable detergent has been used.
Unsatisfactory washing results:nStubborn stains have not been treated prior to washing.
nThe correct temperature or programme was not selected.
